DAWR Terms of Service

Welcome to DAWR.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DAWR mobile application and any related services. By using DAWR, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the application.

1. About DAWR

DAWR is a privacy-first application designed to help Muslim women track their menstrual cycles, fasting, pregnancy and postpartum periods, and related worship.

The app combines Gregorian and Hijri calendars to provide tracking, predictions, reminders, and optional backup features.

2. Medical Disclaimer

DAWR is not a medical device or medical service.

The application does not provide:

• medical advice,
• diagnosis,
• treatment,
• emergency services,
• professional healthcare recommendations.

Cycle predictions, fertile windows, period estimates, and similar features are generated using the information you record together with statistical prediction models. They are estimates only and should not be considered medically accurate.

If you have concerns about your health, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, fertility, or any medical condition, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

3. Religious Guidance

DAWR is intended to support users in tracking fasting and menstrual-related worship.

Features such as qadha tracking and reminders are provided as organisational tools only.

Religious rulings and practices may differ between scholars, schools of thought, and individual circumstances. Users remain responsible for making personal religious decisions and, where appropriate, seeking guidance from qualified scholars.

4. Your Data

By default, your information is stored locally on your own device.

Cloud backup is entirely optional and only occurs if you choose to connect your Google account and enable Google Drive backup.

You remain the owner of your personal tracking data.

5. Exported Backups

DAWR allows you to export backup files.

Once you export a backup outside the application, you are responsible for storing and sharing that file securely.

DAWR cannot control exported files once they leave the application.

6. User Responsibilities

When using DAWR, you agree to:

• provide accurate information where appropriate,
• use the application lawfully,
• keep exported backup files secure,
• use the application only for personal purposes unless otherwise permitted.

7. Intellectual Property

The DAWR name, logo, branding, application design, software, documentation, graphics, and related content remain the intellectual property of the DAWR project unless otherwise stated.

These Terms do not grant permission to copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit any part of DAWR except where permitted by applicable law.

8. Availability

We aim to keep DAWR available and functioning reliably.

However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Features may be added, modified, or removed as the application evolves.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DAWR is provided "as is" and "as available."

While we strive to make predictions and tracking features as accurate as possible, we cannot guarantee that all calculations, reminders, or predictions will always be correct.

DAWR shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damages arising from reliance on information generated by the application.

Users should not rely on DAWR as the sole basis for medical, fertility, or religious decisions.

10. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time.

When significant changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised.

Continued use of DAWR after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws.
